The tour and the tour guide itself are great. Bikes were terrible. My 3rd time renting electric bikes with other tours companies and this one is far the most disappointing. We had the bikes till 7pm but by 3 pm the bikes were already almost out of battery life. The bikes normal gears didn’t work at all on one of our bikes. Going up hills you had to do most of the work because the bike couldn’t get up the hill without you doing most of the peddling. Would pass on this tour. Only gave it a 3 star because of the guide. She’s was awesome.

They happily got us our bikes, offered to take pics of us for us, and were so nice! Super friendly staff all around. Adam was our bike tour guide, and he is so knowledgeable, funny and sweet! He really loves his city and it shows. We accidentally left our ferry tickets at the desk when we left, and the same guy that helped us with our bikes and pics, rode them to where we were already at. Great experience, well put together, great things going on with their guest services! Nice work guys! Give those men a raise. 👍🏼Highly recommend, would totally come back!

I was in San Francisco in September and one of my goals was to bicycle across the Golden Gate Bridge, so I took the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito Guided Bike Tour. This tour goes from Fisherman‘s Wharf through the Marina district and stops along the way to discuss some facts about various locations, such as the Palace of Fine Arts. I had already experienced all of these sites before the tour, so I didn’t necessarily appreciate that part of it as much as others would. But I did appreciate having someone to lead me to the bridge and then into Sausalito. Next time I visit I will probably just rent a bicycle and go on my own now that I know where I’m going. But if you want to cross the bridge and ride into Sausalito and you haven’t done that before, I really recommend this tour. This route is described as “mostly flat”, but there are three hills on the way to the bridge, and I would say they are fairly rigorous. I am 56 years old and I bicycle three to four times a week, but I was a little worried about making it up these hills. (There is an option to rent an electric bicycle.) Entering Sausalito the hill is a fairly long and steep dissent. Biking across the Golden Gate bridge is definitely a great experience and Sausalito is a lovely town to spend a couple of hours in. I paid the extra fee and dropped the bike off in Sausalito, then took the ferry back to San Francisco. This was a great way to spend the day!

Eli was great tour guide. Electric bikes are way to go. Beautiful ride over Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito. Had lunch and spent afternoon there before taking ferry back to SF. Would highly recommend.

Not a beginners tour as they claim. You need to be in shape and experienced to get through. Faulty helmets (even tour guide even acknowledged poor quality), passive aggressive tour guide, unsafe bikes with slippery pedals. Proceeded to bike in the rain when it wasn’t safe. Best part of the tour was dropping off my bike in Sausalito for an additional cost. Avoid tour.

This is a great tour and Adam, our guide, is the one who helped make it so great! Adam is so knowledgeable and shares details about San Francisco along with his passion for the city. We take bike tours in every new city we visit and it's a perfect way to acquaint yourself with your surroundings. When you book a tour with Bay City Bikes make sure you request Adam as your Tour Guide!!!

Incredible, awe-inspiring tour with these folks. The skillfull team at Bay City Bike was spot on from the counter check in, to the bike set up, and helping us iwth helmets, to the very tour end. They even offer a servcie to leave the bikes behidn in Sausalito- for a fee, of course, but all you have to do is call and they take care of the rest. Judy was an exceptional guide and I coudl not praise this experience more. The best thing we did in our short stay in San Francisco!

The actual tour was decent enough, but you could probably get a similar experience with a different vendor. The problem is with the check in and booking. We booked the night before through Air BnB, no indication of any issue. Show up the next morning, and they can't find our reservation. Instead of handling the matter simply, they tried over the next 15 minutes to convince me that I must have another name. Then we waiting another 1- minutes to finally get our bikes, which were in desperate need of servicing. Then when I gave an honest review, they completely denied any responsibility. Utterly incompetent. There are so many other choices, so go elsewhere for a better experience.
